Did you remain at the same school(s) or transfer to a number of different schools growing up? How did your early educational experiences impact your self-esteem and confidence?
Lets see..Kindergarten in Chile.. Kindergarten in Canada (had to repeat because I didn't speak english).. gr 1-3 in Canada.. Gr. 5 in Chile (yes I skipped Gr. 4).. gr 7 in Canada (yes I skipped Gr. 6.. this is all due to the whole northern/southern hemisphere moving)... then Highschool in Canada.. all different schools.. so that makes it five?
anyway.. I guess it depends on the person..but doing this made me learn to adapt pretty quickly..and to learn to lose things and start all over. That sounds depressing but it's really not..because it's part of life..and the earlier you learn it the easier it is to deal with in the future.. So now I have no problems moving or making new friends..or losing people. It sucks..briefly..but I'll get over it and I know that I can overcome it. Also I lived in places that were SO different culturally (in chile it was always somewhere else..in the city..in a rural town) This also helps me adapt and basically make due with whatever is available. It's generally been a positive thing for me..and has attributed to who I am today. It also made me bilingual haha.
